You may notice that the amount shown on the campaign page looks double—or even triple—what you donated. No worries! This usually means your donation was matched.
The organization you supported secured one or more matchers for their campaign. A matcher is a generous individual or foundation that agrees to match donations, increasing the impact of your gift. Because of this, the matched amount is reflected on the campaign page.
On your credit card or payment statement, you’ll only see one charge for the original amount you chose to donate. If you set up a recurring donation, that same original amount is charged each month for the length of your subscription. The matched portion increases the campaign total, but it’s not an additional charge to you.
